Designed by our master artisans, the Spectre Series Bread Knife has been crafted incorporating centuries of traditional Japanese knife design along with cutting-edge nitrogen-cooled forging techniques. Featuring a perfectly balanced, ergonomic grip for incredible comfort and safety, and a shockingly sharp cutting edge. The defining characteristics of traditional Japanese kitchen knives such as toughness, sharpness, edge-life, edge-quality, precision, comfort, and ease of use have not been lost.
The Bread Knife
Unlike knives with a smooth edge, a bread knife features saw-like serrations. This design allows you to flawlessly slice through food hard on the outside and soft on the inside. Rather than applying downward pressure, using a saw-like back and forth motion prevents the inner contents from being crushed. In addition to bread, tougher skinned fruits and vegetables like melon, squash, and tomato can be sliced with ease.

Relentlessly sharp. Made from our own specially formulated professional grade high-carbon Japanese AUS-8 Stainless Steel for enhanced corrosion resistance and non-stick properties. These precision-forged, nitrogen-cooled blades are handcrafted and hand sharpened by our virtuoso technicians using the three-stage traditional Japanese Honbazuke method, to a perfect 14° per side for clean, precise, cuts, amazing edge-retention, and they have a Rockwell Hardness of 58 for maximum strength, flexibility, and blade edge durability.

Its Pakkwood handle is also nearly impervious to heat, cold, and moisture, and has a Full Tang (which means the blade extends all the way to the end of the handle) for added strength.
