Nakiri Knife

Resembling a small cleaver, the traditional Japanese Nakiri are double beveled knives designed specifically for working with vegetables. Unlike a cleaver, the Nakiri is extremely sharp and thin, providing you with smooth, clean, precise chops and cuts. The Samurai Nakiri's squared-off tip, and tall, flat, broad side is also great at crushing foods such as garlic, and its amazingly sharp blade effortlessly chops all the way down to the cutting board, without the need for pulling or pushing.

The Samurai Series

With their stylish etched rippling pattern over a chromed blade, Samurai Series knives were designed to be ferociously formidable with full tang strength. Like a surgeon’s scalpel, they are relentlessly sharp and made from high carbon 7Cr17MoV stainless steel, which has a high order of chromium for enhanced corrosion resistance and tensile strength. The knives come equipped with an extremely durable mirror polished pakkawood handle. They have high water-resisting capabilities, won't crack or split, and are easy to clean and maintain. Pakkawood is exceptionally dense and possesses incredible strength, which is why it is often used in both military and kitchen environments.

Blade Features

Samurai Series knife blades are vacuum furnace heat treated and nitrogen cooled which greatly enhances the blade’s performance, providing excellent wear resistance and durability, while minimizing the chance of chips and fractures occurring under heavy stress. Forged from premium 7Cr17MoV high carbon stainless steel, the composition of this steel results in great edge retention, keeping the knife sharper, longer. The blade has a Rockwell Hardness (HRC) of 58 for strength, flexibility, and blade edge durability. Each blade is hand sharpened using the complex, three-stage, traditional Japanese Honbazuke method to a perfect 16-degree angle per side.

Handle Features

Used for military applications due to its incredible strength and exceptional density, Pakkawood has high water-resisting capabilities, won't crack or split, and is easy to clean and maintain. The seamless build ensures no dirt or food debris can infiltrate its body, keeping the handle safe and hygienic in busy kitchens. Ergonomically designed for extended use, the handle has a contoured bolster, which provides a comfortable pinch grip for enhanced knife control. They are finished with a stainless-steel laser etched end cap which serves as a counterbalance.
